our story
Smokn Blue BBQ started when neighbors on the same street met each other. We had football in common, and during Sunday Night Football,is when epiphanies happened in the garage. It was found that we both had an obsession with culinary greatness and innovation. As food snobs, we wanted our experience to be unlike anything else. We consider our cuisine a "outside the box" experience. In every bite, you will be teleported to an unusual world of flavor, with no ceiling.
THE ART
At Smokn Blue BBQ, our obsession runs deep. We hand select our cuts of meat. Mediocre cuts will never made it to the pit. We slow smoke our select cuts over cherry, apple, and hickory hardwoods. The name "Smokn Blue" came from the term "blue smoke". In BBQ, this is a by-product of clean burning wood fire and complete combustion. This equilibrium of fuel, oxygen, and heat being achieved is packed with pure, clean, and smoky flavors. This is sure to delight your tastebuds, and the smoky aromatics are unique.

We first started out making roadside bbq, and passersby's would stop and get the food to go. Shortly after, they come back with beer, chairs and tents and hang out with us for hours. We all had a great time and a great experience, because you ARE family!

How We Became Popular Among Others ?
Although roots are firmly planted in Hernando, FL; we drew inspiration from traditions nationwide. Stuart Willis is a country boy from South Georgia. Eric Bratton is a city boy from upstate New York. His family's mopping sauce recipe has been passed down for more than a century. Smokn Blue BBQ is extremely proud to create a marriage between phenomenal BBQ, and exclusively featuring Bratton's mopping sauce.
